Devil of a Lunch returns in 2023…back to where it all began in the newly renovated and branded Club Yeronga (Yeronga Services and Community Club).

For just $99, enjoy a 3-course lunch and 3-hour drinks package (inc. beer, wine, soft drinks, tea, and coffee) with a star-studded guest speaker list including:

  • Daniel Rich – Current Brisbane Lions player (#10)
  • Harry Sharp – Current Brisbane Lions player (#22)
  • Tim Notting – 2-time AFL Premiership winning player, former Brisbane Lion and Yeronga South Brisbane football player.

$,000s in raffle prizes and auction items with ALL funds raised being reinvested directly back into Yeronga JAFC football programs.

Kubb’s on St Pats Day

Our first social event for the year, Kubb with some Irish flare, is being held on Sunday, 17 March. Its a great opportunity for families new and old to catch up and celebrate the season ahead.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • It’s a knock-out competition, with teams of 2-3 (each team member must be aged 8+).
  • Each team gets a minimum of three games.
  • $50 per team – register your team here.
  • Great cash prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd (60% of game fees will go into prize money – cha-ching!)
  • Prize for best-dressed team – St Patricks Day is the theme!
  • Comp is capped at 30 teams so register ASAP.
  • No Kubb experience? No problem!

There will be a great space for the kids, with a dedicated (non-competitive) Kubb field for the little ones, outdoor activities and more!

The canteen will be open for food and refreshments.

2024 Youth Coaching Expressions of Interest now open!

We are seeking expressions of interest to join our existing youth boys and girls coaching team.

All levels of experience are encouraged to reach out.

Our coaches benefit from external strength and conditioning for their teams and opportunities to develop their own skills through coaching courses.

Roles include assisting our current coaches as well as head coaching opportunities. You’ll have the support of the entire club as well as strong parent involvement to help in the role.

FIRST AID SUPPORT & TRAINING

The club is currently arranging and funding a first aid trainer to provide qualified training to parents keen to assist the club and their team.

The provision of a qualified first aid officer is a mandatory requirement for all home games to ensure a safe playing environment for our children.

If you are interested in obtaining first aid qualifications or require a refresher, please contact our Club Secretary, Kim Bridle, to register your interest.

Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Yeronga Junior Australian Football Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 29 March in the senior clubhouse, Cansdale St, Yeronga commencing at 5:15 pm.

At the annual general meeting, the club will be looking for fresh faces to join existing Management Committee members to ensure a successful 2023 season and beyond.

With the objective of having many people doing small amounts of work, the Club has divided activities up into bit-size chunks. Take a look at some of the Management Committee positions and club-based support roles and let us know if you’d like to put your hand up to assist in one of the roles using the following online expression of interest form.
